Luminary: Genevieve Jopanda
Genevieve Villafranca Jopanda carries over 20 years of operations and organizational leadership experience across non-profit, corporate, and government environments where she served as a political appointee in the past 10 years. Genevieve was a staff jockey for Assembly Bill 199 which led to its chaptering into law implementing the contributions of Filipinos during WWII into U.S. history books. Her most recent immediate impact is having served as Chief of Staff and top advisor to the elected State Treasurer. There she managed the day-to-day operations leading numerous state programs and divisions issuing grants, loans, and bonds funding California’s infrastructure in addition to the Treasury’s oversight of more than $2 trillion in transactions and an investment portfolio of over $100 billion within a typical year.
